Week Of Workouts - Day 1

To kick us off this week we asked to the coach of our leading USA running haven Heartbreak Hill Running Company and its founder @coachdanbos Dan Fitzgerald to get us moving. I will hand over to him.

 

These beginner focused workouts are designed to be purposeful and empowering, allowing you to feel your strongest while you dive into this new past time. With the uncertainty of the moment, it's important to understand the additional stress we're all under. The workouts accommodate and reflect that allowing you to push and improve but also shouldn’t require you to muster your maximum capacity. 



Week 1:



Mon: 8 min easy, easy run, walk 2 min, turnaround and easy, easy run home. Why so short? We want to protect our energy and future runs. As a rule, err on the side of less so that you’re excited for tomorrow. 



Tues: 30 seconds alternating pushups (knees or regular)/crunches/body weight squats, two or 3 times through. Head outside for 2 min running, 2 min walking off and on for a total of 30 minutes. 



Wed: 3 min easy jogging, 2 min walking for a total of 20-30 min of exercise



Thu: Rest



Fri: 30 seconds alternating pushups (knees or regular)/crunches/body weight squats, two or 3 times through. Head outside for 2 min running, 2 min walking off and on for a total of 30 minutes. 

 

Sat: 8 min easy run, 4 min walk for a total of 24-48 min

 

Sun: Off or 30 seconds alternating pushups (knees or regular)/crunches/body weight squats, two or 3 times through (take the day off from running)
